Frequently Asked Questions

What does the word "digitography" mean?
Digitography is just a new term for digital photography. Just like traditional film photography, we use the same type of equipment, the same knowledge, the same lighting, it's only what the photo is recorded on that is different.

How do you describe your style of photography?
We would describe our style as very casual, fluid and contemporary. One word we don't like around here is "pose". We don't "pose" people. We'd rather you be yourself.

The top of my head is chopped off on the photo, what do I do?
We get this question from time to time. Please know that this was no accident. This usually happens when we are getting a close-up shot. This is for the composition, or framing of the photo. When shooting a close up, there really is no value in getting the top of the head in the photo. What we focus on is the face and expression.

How long to get my proofs or prints?
We pride ourselves with quick turnaround time for proofs and prints. There are times when we are crazy busy that it might take a bit longer, but generally 1 to 2 weeks. Your online proofs will be up sooner than that. We want you to get your photos as soon as possible.

What if it rains the day of my grad session?
We can't predict the weather, that's for sure. If it's raining the day of your grad session and your session includes outdoor photos, we can do it one of two ways. We can either try and reschedule your entire session, or we can just shoot the indoor portion and reschedule the outdoor portion. If possible, we like to reschedule the entire session. It seems that when the session is broke in to two sessions, we lose the flow of the session. We will do our very best to accomodate a reschedule for you.

Can I change clothes during my session?
Yes. We don't have a problem with that. We appreciate quick changes, however.

What type of clothing is best?
Generally solids work best. If you have pale skin stay away from white or light colors. Wear clothing that flatters you. We don't recommend sleeveless shirts.

Do you fix blemishes?
Absolutely. We fix blemishes, shiney spots, etc. all free of charge on all your final prints (not proofs). Extreme acne will usually incur a small digi fee as this will take a little more time.

The photo I like is Black & White, can I order it in color?
Yes, we preserve all the original photos in their original color.
