Replacing Travis when he moved to Texas is the current bassist Kevin Boyd.  Kevin adds great vocal talent and a solid bass sound.  Kevin is a great musician and currently plays with the Minot band Reckless Jefferson.

Guy Connell took over on lead guitar when Rick moved from the area. He was a great addition to the group and would work diligently to master each part.

MBT-2010

Shortly thereafter, Guy moved to complete his medical training and the group was excited to enlist John Berning on lead guitar.  Always striving to get a better guitar tone, John is an exceptional musician. He also added great vocals and quick wit both on and off stage.

Cory Schmaltz became the Whooz Playin' drummer when Dave W. retired. He added great high harmonies along with a solid beat and an eye for continuing to improve the bands sound and visual appearance.

Dave L. remained with the band throughout its existence. He grew vocally and instrumentally with the rest of the band and, along with sharing vocal duties with his band mates, would play acoustic and electric rhythm guitar.

Last but not least,  we have the 6th man and honorary band member—Mike Endrud.  Mike lived some distance from the Minot area and could not make it to every gig but the entire band was always glad to have him join with his superb steel guitar playing (also known as the 10 string cheese slicer).

Whooz Playin' was fortunate to have a great following and tried to always keep improving their sound and presence.  The Whooz Playin' band credits their loyal fans for their many years as a successful band.  Some of the bands best memories are of playing gigs such as:  The Minot Street Dance, The Y's Mens Rodeo, The State Fair, The Granville Street Dance, Borrowed Bucks,  Friday's Club, the old Sundowner Lounge, the Lonesome Dove (Mandan),  and numerous weddings and celebrations.

The band that will be playing at the benefit is the latest version of the band with Dave Lyon, John Berning, Kevin Boyd, Curt Kittelson, Cory Schmaltz and Mike Endrud.  We have not played together for 10 years but we are excited and ready for a great night.
